Six years ago, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin decided to split peacefully with a "conscious uncoupling." Coldplay singer and the 47 year old actress, however, "made commitments to maintaining the family- even though [they] weren't going to be a couple" Gwyneth informed Today's.

In the Drew Barrymore Show, Gwyneth revealed how co-parenting works with her ex-husband Chris Martin."Some days it's not as good as it looks. We also have good days and bad days" Paltrow commented in the Show.

The commitment to co-parenting with ex-husband is not that easy, but Paltrow said she is doing it for the sake of her two children Apple Martin and Moses Martin in order not to "be traumatized, if it were possible". Even if the couple decided to make an end to their marriage, Paltrow explains that they are a family and this is a fact. She said:"Some days, you don't really want to be with the person that you are getting divorced from. But if you're committed to having family dinner, then you do it. And you take a deep breath, and you look the person in the eye, and you remember your pact, and you smile, and you hug, and you make a joke, and you just commit to this new relationship that you're trying to foster"

Paltrow now is a stepmother to her husband Brad Falchuk's children Isabella and Brody, while Coldplay singer Chris Martin has dated Dakota Johnson since 2017.  Paltrow believes that Conscious uncoupling exists and love can always survive either with her husband or her children's father. she puts: "I know my ex-husband was meant to be the father of my children,  and I know my current husband is meant to be the person I grow very old with. Conscious uncoupling lets us recognize those two different loves can coexist and nourish each other"
